Grenache is a complex wine with heavy spice notes that is berry driven wine but soft on the palate and easy to enjoy. It is also lighter in weight than most wine because of its thin skin but makes an excellent red wine to enjoy in summer months. Planted widely in Spain and France it is mostly often blended with Syrah, Mourvedre in Rhone style wines and Tempranillo in Spain. This 100% Grenache sourced from La Presa Vineyard was aged in 25% New American Oak for 20 months to give it subtle hints of vanilla. Enjoy now!

The fourth vintage sourced from the Sanger Estate Vineyard in the eastern portion of the Santa Ynez Valley next to the Happy Canyon AVA. This year the wine presents a bright fruit forward profile with mild tannins, making it ridiculously easy to enjoy. Recent years of elevated temperatures are creating a fantastic environment for all the Bordeaux varietals! 30% New American oak for a hint of vanilla.

Sourced from Tierra Alta Vineyard in Ballard Canyon those whose enjoy peppery wines will be excited. Deeply spice driven with classic notes of bay leaves, truffle chocolate and coffee this wine still possesses a graceful balance without overpowering the pallet. Pair with all things from the barbeque!

Another new varietal! This exciting addition to the lineup is powerful, bold and complex. A classic varietal from the Rioja region of Spain, the vines love the heat on the east side of Santa Ynez and produce deeply colored wines with fantastic aging potential. While approachable now with blackberry and chocolate notes, time will only prove to add complexities that will be exciting to disseminate and explore.

From the Sanger Estate Vineyard this is a big, bold, inky wine. Classic deep purple in color those looking for depth found it. This wine also contains a bit of residual sediment, so don’t be surprised if there is a little grit at the end of the bottle. Unfiltered and more natural this wine will fill up our mouth nicely.

This year the blend is 50% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon and 25% Cabernet Franc. The structure is more readily apparent than past vintages. The tannins are layered and complex. The Merlot imparts lovely hints of plum while the Cabernets provide deepening blackcurrent with a hint of eucalyptus. 66 cases produced.

Grenache, Syrah and Mourvedre. A traditional Rhone-style wine. Each grape from a different vineyard in Santa Ynez. One barrel of each was used to create the blend. The unique label a new creation meant to capture the essence of blending wines, colors and life. I call it a Fire Wave. Enjoy now or hold up to 3-4 yrs.
